Description:
For connecting a modern monitor to the older 9pin video socket of pre-A5000 computers (A310, A410, A420, A440, A540, & A3000).

Please note that the output is not a true VGA and a few VGA or SVGA monitors will not be compatible without the use of a 'VIDC enhancer' which is no longer available.

Also the default 'TV frequency' modes of pre A5000 will not display on VGA/SVGA and you will need to select a VGA mode such as WIMPMODE 27.

To select a mode blind i.e. with no display:
Press F12
Press the 'End' key you should hear a beep which will confirm you are in command mode
type WIMPMODE 27
then press Return
Some monitors including most LCDs require the following to be typed now
con. sync 0
The full stop and spaces are essential
then press Return again

You should have a display now
To default to the above mode now at the * prompt enter
*con.wimpmode 27
*con. mode 27
