If one computer output is VGA and the other is DVI then your monitor needs to have both VGA and DVI inputs and you need a cable such as this DVI-I to separate DVI-D & VGA lead.
If both computer outputs are VGA then use a DVI-I to VGA cable from KVM to monitor
If both computer outputs are DVI then use a DVI to DVI cable from KVM to monitor
